Persimmon Farm is nestled on 30 acres near rural Ocana, Tennessee.  It was named in honor of the many persimmon trees located on the property, which are easily identified by their beautiful and unusual bark. Home to a variety of wild and domestic plant and animal life, it seems a world away from the city, but is only 15 minutes from either Gallatin or Hendersonville.

The Farm

FOR SALE

We have farm fresh eggs for sale throughout the year.  All of our hens are free-range and pasture-raised, so our eggs have that rich, old-fashioned taste that is hard to find in stores.

We also have a variety of home-made preserves, jams, and jellies for sale for $5 in a 4oz. size or $7 for 8 oz. size in peach, blackberry, Queen Anne’s lace, pepper, peony, purple clover, dandelion, honeysuckle, chicory, and persimmon.  These can be bought as single jars, or we can put together a gift basket of several varieties.

At certain times of the year, we also have livestock for sale. See our livestock page for the latest information on availability of goats, sheep and chickens. We are currently taking reservations for goat bucklings for the 2027 kidding season. See our livestock page for more details.

HAPPENINGS

We hope to offer a group class in basic goat care in the fall. This class would last about 90 minutes and cover basic goat medical care, feeding, social dynamics, what to keep in your goat first aid kit, and more. If you are interested in getting more info on the class, please reach out to us via email.

Looking for a great spot to take family photos? For a sitting fee, your family can use Persimmon Farm as the backdrop.  By the woods, in front of the barn, the swing by the pond, in front of the haybales, or by the creek – there are so many different looks your photographer can capture. You can even have your pictures made with some of our chickens and goats.  You can contact us directly or have your photographer get in touch.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe it is vital for individuals to be aware of the environment and know the source of their food.  We also realize that many people don’t have the resources or may lack the experience necessary to farm, and we believe part of our responsibility as farm owners is to help educate the community  and to expose them to the joys of farm life.
